Welcome to the Fall 2016 internship.

It is important I get all of the below documents from you as soon as possible so we can start the process of finding internship sites.

PLEASE DO NOT GO TO SITES ON YOUR OWN EXCEPT TO GET CONTACTS FOR THE UNIVERSITY.

Many sites want official contact from the University, this is a big change from the past.

If you have already found a site please pass me the details so I can make contact and have the official university letter sent.

I work with Student Affairs, who places all ZU interns, to find sites.

Please note that all internships are in the 2^nd 10 weeks of the semester and are full-time placements.

We will meet once a week during the 1^st 10 weeks for mandatory internship workshops, they are useful, entertaining and important!

YOUR GOAL IS TO CREATE A POSTER THAT OTHER STUDENTS CAN MAKE A DECISION ABOUT YOUR SITE FOR AN INTERNSHIP OR A JOB!

Poster and Classroom Presentation Guidelines

ALL internship students will be expected to do a 5 to 10-minute comprehensive presentation of their internship experience to a CCMS class taught by their faculty internship supervisor.

ALL internship students will need to produce a standard A1 sized professional quality poster , BUT DONE BY THE STUDENT, to present the internship to the ZU community, these will be posted in the Atrium and explained by the student.

Students will be available during a designated common break in the atrium to explain their poster and answer questions.

BELOW are the expectations of both the presentation and poster.

General Introduction:

-Student name, internship site, general introduction to the organization,

-Department(s) where students worked

Work Assignments:

*Outline specific tasks assigned and completed, if possible include examples

*Explain how ZU learning outcomes related to assignments done in the workplace

Evaluation of Work Assignment:

*Discuss what was learned from the internship

*Include an overall evaluation of the organization

*Make recommendations to the organization for improving the internship experience

ZU’s Role in Your Internship

*Include what should have been learned at ZU before going to the internship

*Make recommendations for improving the internship program

What will be evaluated

*Delivery was well-paced and points were clear

*Good use was made of the available technology

*Use of English was clear and correct; grammar errors

were avoided; pronunciation and articulation made

*presentation easy to understand

*Presentation was well-organized and complete

*Physical behaviors (gestures, etc.) contributed to the

overall presentation

*High-quality poster, professional standard, representative of a student graduating from CCMS

Summer Internship

The summer internship dates are May 29-July 21.

You need to submit the following documents as soon as possible.

FEB 11 Internship Workshop!

Girls tomorrow is an important workshop PLEASE PLAN TO ATTEND we will take attendance.

Tomorrow's workshop is being delivered by an invited guest and it is all about workplace ethics!

I have had students fired from internships over ethics and if you are fired you do not pass!

Also, Mr. Nouroudine will be here from Abu Dhabi to talk about your site placements and answer process questions.
