Do you know a young woman in the UAE (national or non-national with ties to the UAE such as second generation or long-time resident) between the ages of 18 and 25 who has an interest in giving back to the community? 

We are looking for 5 young women from each of the 7 emirates to attend a 3-day e7 Summit in Dubai 9-11 April 2015 to be inspired, trained, and connected to help ignite and implement a community commitment by the participants! 

Deadline for applicants are 1 February 2015.

Poster Presentation January 13

Girls you will be posting and talking to prospective interns about your experience on the 13th of January in the atrium from 1 to 3 pm.

Poster and Classroom Presentation Criteria

ALL internship students will be expected to do a 5 to 10 minute comprehensive presentation of their internship experience to a CCMS class taught by their faculty internship supervisor.

ALL internship students will need to produce a standard A1 sized professional quality poster , BUT DONE BY THE STUDENT, to present the internship to the ZU community, these will be posted in the Atrium and explained by the student.

Students will be available during a designated common break in the atrium to explain their poster and answer questions.

BELOW are the expectations of both the presentation and poster.

General Introduction:

*All basic information included:

-Name, internship site, general introduction of the organization,

including its mission, customers, number of employees, etc.

-Department(s) where students worked

-Supervisor(s)

Work Assignments:

*Outline specific tasks assigned and completed

*Explain learning outcomes realized from these assignments

Evaluation of Work Assignment:

*Discuss what was learned from the internship

*Include an overall evaluation of the organization

*Make recommendations to the organization

for improving the internship experience

ZU’s Role in Your Internship

*Include what should have been learned at ZU before going

to the internship

*Make recommendations for improving the internship program

What will be evaluated

*Delivery was well-paced and points were clear

*Good use was made of the available technology

*Use of English was clear and correct; grammar errors

were avoided; pronunciation and articulation made

*presentation easy to understand

*Presentation was well-organized and complete

*Physical behaviors (gestures, etc.) contributed to the

overall presentation

*High quality poster, professional standard, representative of a student graduating from CCMS

Great Spring Internship Opportunity

E7 GIRLS SUMMIT Project Coordinator Interns

Promise of a Generation (POAG) is looking for a highly motivated, driven, and energetic intern to work on our E7 Girls summit .

Under the umbrella of POAG the E7 Girls Summit is a platform to prepare girls and young women in the United Arab Emirates to lead and participate in the development of the nation fulfilling Sheikh Zayed’s vision.

 Some of the Intern Responsibilities

 -Contribute to website redesign projects

 -Event Planning Responsibilities

- Communications & Marketing Tasks o Online outreach and promotion using social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram) o Contribute to website redesign projects

 -Manage relationships with partners, advisors, governance members, vendors, universities, and sponsors Requirements

 -Desire to inspire girls and young women in the U.A.E.  Ability to support the E7 Girls Summit 9 – 11 April 2015

 -8 hours/week minimum commitment. Flexible hours including some weekends.

-Experience and knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)

 -Knowledge of Social Media Platforms (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube)

 -Available for weekly 1 hour in-person meetings in Dubai.

Major’s Day meeting Tueday, Oct  7.  The female majors meeting is from 12 – 1 in Lecture Hall I .
